i. There are two main themes in this first movement. Can you describe the character of each? Listen for when the music changes from minor to major and becomes more tranquil – this introduces the second theme.
ii. What instruments do you hear primarily during the second theme? True or False – there is a return of the first theme.

its like it is leading down a path of darkness and then when the 2nd theme comes it is bring you out....there is light in the darkness.
I think I hear violin more but could be confused lol.
Ahhhh trick question ....answer is Ture
The first is very dark and exciting.
The second starts relaxing, and builds to a frenzy of violins and strings, with some low horns.
yes there is a return to the first theme.
1. The first theme is dark and suspensful. It brings some kind of anticipation, as if something is about to happen. The second theme is a release ofthat suspense. It brings calmness and tranquility.
ii. In the second theme there are less horns and more stings and flutes. Primarily I can hear some stringed inftoment like the violin or viola. And I would say TRUE there is a return of the first theme.
I commented on this one, once but I don't see my comment so I figure better safe than sorry.
The first movement I don't know best to describe it other than to say that it is a build up of thats kinda repeated over and over and the second is kinda of slow starting off but then it gradually gets stronger.
Primarily instrument I want to say is some type of horn but I dunno what it is. I listen all the way throught it and don't see a huge repeat of the primarily theme to me, maybe a little bit but not alot.
strings are the main things that i hear in the second part. There is a return to the first theme.
I can realy hear the difference in the two themes. the first in dark and lurking and it is the music they would play in a movie right before something very dramatic was about to happen. it moves right into the second theme wich is very happy and cheerful. after it is happy for a while it builds back into the first theme. i can heer a defenite violin. i really like percussion in the end
i. Ok, the first theme is dark and dramatic. The notes are stocatto. The second theme is lighter, aided, of course, by the major key.
ii. The second movement is primarily woodwinds, rather than brass as in the first movement.
True, right after the second theme, the first theme returns.
The first theme is somewhat dark and stoccatic giving the effect of intensity. When the second theme is a much lighter and more fluid Melodie rather than the stoccatic notes from the first.
The primary instruments are violins in the second theme.
True the first theme returns but then fades out and thin back in again closer to the end, leaving the audience on the edge of there seat.
The first them is very broad in dynamic ranging from dark and heavy to bright and airy. It is very sticcato in the beginning, then resolving to a much more connected and fluid peice, then back to sticcato.
The Violin and other stinged instuments, such as the cello.
True, it does return.
i. The first theme sounds very dramatic and big if that makes sense. The second Theme sounds light and higher notes.
ii. I hear some sort of stringed instruments and true there is a return of the first theme.
