. Why is this piece an example of “absolute music?”
I looked in my book but I don't remember what absolute means.
ii. If you had to title it, what would you call it? Really think about this one!
I never understood how people come up with names of songs other than from the words of the song. I'd would just call the song. Piano Music
iii. What about this piece is uniquely “Romantic?”
I don't think it feel romantic, it makes me sleepy more than anything.
When I hear this song, I think of hard times, maybe war or poverty. So I might call it "The common war", someone fighting against the hardships of life. It is uniquely romantic because it is dealing with the mood of someone, not just a story or maybe not even particularly made for a reason. Chopin is showing how he feels, a very moody piece. Not for sure on the "absolute Music" Does that have something to do with the fact that it has nothing to do with a plot? That it can move any direction? Not for sure on that one.
this music is absolute. you can tell because it is kind of random. i cannot picture this piece with any literature.
I would call this piece "a stroll" because it reminds me of two people taking a walk.
this piece is romantic because it is short. it also portrays the mood of the romantic era.
i. There is no title, and the emotion stays constant throughout.
ii. The midnight sailor
iii. The darkness and mysteriousness of the piece
I guess that is is absolute because it is consistent.
I would call it Titanic Dinner Music.
It is uniquely romantic because of the mood.
i. It has the same theme throughout the song.
ii. "Depressed much?"
iii. it is overly sad, which works them making everything even more dramatic than it is already.
i. I'm not entirely sure why this song is considered "absolute music." By listening to it, I can't tell if Chopin had a certain object or event in mind.
ii. If this is absolute music then I wouldn't give it a title. There's nothing to associate it with.
iii. This piece is "Romantic" because it has an exotic, strange quality to it. It doesn't necessarily play by the rules of the previous eras.
1) This piece is absolute in the fact that it has no title to me it doesn’t sound like it has a deep meaning behind it. It just sounds like a piece that is from the heart.
2) If I had to name this piece I would name it epic of passion. Because you can really hear the passion that was written into the music.
3) This piece is truly romantic because of the passion that Chopin put in the composition of this piece.
i.This piece is absolute because it was not made to shape any image or picture. You can tell by the title. It is music for the sake of music. That's a good enough reason to make music.
ii. I would call this piece "Silver Night."
iii. The wide range of the melody is uniquely romantic.
I.Well, it is absolute for the reason that there is no title, making it unattached to any preconcieved concepts or images.
II. I would call it "After the War". It paints the picture of the soldiers picking up their dead or wounded on the battle feild.
III. It is very emotional and broad. It has a broad range also making it unique to the Romantic era.
i. This piece is an example of absolute music because it is not about anything. It is non-representational or non-objective.
ii. "Dark Impromptu"
iii. The mood of this piece of music makes it have Romantic qualities. Also the range from low to high.
